Careers & Enterprise Day

On Thursday 17th November, Capital City College hosted a Careers & Enterprise Day at Westminster Kingsway College, supported by CDA, as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

As part of our commitment to support local start-ups and SMEs, inspire young entrepreneurs and facilitate apprenticeships, the day provided invaluable expertise and guidance for those currently seeking employment or looking to set out on their own.

Attendees had the opportunity to:

  • Attend masterclass sessions with Samsung, LinkedIn and many more employers
  • Watch a fashion show, sponsored by Dress for Success
  • Watch live demonstrations from hospitality students
  • Have free professional headshots taken for their LinkedIn
  • Enter a prize draw to win one of several phones or tablet

It was brilliant to have so many of our members and local businesses attending and offering career advice and job opportunities. Budding entrepreneurs and jobseekers were able to pick up tips, tricks and useful insights from the experts, whilst Dress for Success' fashion show, shared advice on 'how to dress for an interview'.

The Mayor of Camden, a former student of the College, also joined us and inspired all those that came along.

Our partnership with Capital City College Group (CCCG) has been facilitated via the Mayor’s Academies Programme; through which we have recently launched our Digital and Hospitality Academy Hubs. Working with CCCG, we are able to partner with hospitality and digital businesses in our district to upskill and train their existing staff – and also open up a pool of new students taking the college’s courses, from which they can recruit from.

If you'd like to find out more about how we can help you and your businesses with recruitment and upskilling, please contact our ESG Project Manager, Wayne, by emailing wayne@centraldistrictalliance.com
