Collaborating on ESG in 2023

Central District Alliance's business breakfast event; Collaborating on ESG in 2023 - was a resounding success, with a great turnout of member businesses, stakeholders and partners at The Shaftesbury Theatre's new event space, The 1911.

ESG and the business community

ESG is a core priority not only for CDA, but for the majority of businesses in 2023.

At Wednesday's event, we shared what CDA has delivered, in terms of environmental and social projects, in the past year – and our ESG strategy for the upcoming year.

The event featured a range of impressive speakers, including Pru Ashby, Head of Sustainability for London & Partners, and Cllr Santiago Bell-Bradford, Executive Member for Inclusive Economy and Jobs at Islington Council, who discussed the pan-London and borough perspectives on achieving global progress on ESG goals while thinking local and serving the community.

Serving the capital

The expert panel, chaired by Alexander Jan, included Sefinat Otaru, Project Manager at Cross River Partnership, Kurt Hintz, Executive Principal for Capital City College Group, and Mark Shearer, CEO of ActionFunder, who highlighted the amazing work that their partners are doing as catalysts for leadership, collaboration, and partnership in the capital.

Supporting your ESG journey

We also updated businesses on the variety of ways we can help them achieve their ESG goals, including opportunities for involvement with our various education, training and social value programmes and initiatives.

The event concluded with a tour around The Shaftesbury Theatre by Chief Executive, James Williams - who explained the renovations and sustainability measures recently incorporated in the theatre.
