Midtown Chair Alexander Jan and Chief Executive Debbie Akehurst were delighted to welcome London Assembly candidate Anne Clarke to the area. The group met outside the historic James Smith & Sons umbrella shop, where they were joined by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and his team.
Umbrella in hand, the Midtown team and the Mayor made their way over to Cabana St. Giles. Chief Executive Debbie discussed the important work that BIDs do in London, particularly during this difficult time. Debbie also highlighted the work of the Midtown BID and the wider role of Primera across London, mentioning how BIDs and Partnerships in the portfolio work together.
The general managers of Cabana were delighted to have the chance to meet the Mayor, again discussing their concerns, Covid-19 precautions and how the pandemic has impacted their business.
The Mayor publicly thanked the team for their relentless efforts in assisting businesses throughout the pandemic and beyond, as well as taking a photo with Debbie which he later retweeted.
We were thrilled to welcome the Mayor to see our fantastic Midtown businesses as they reopen and prepare to welcome workers and visitors back to the Capital.
