CEO Article: CDA welcomes the Elizabeth line

We are so pleased to see the Elizabeth line opening today; as the UK’s largest construction project and the biggest single regeneration programme in Europe, Crossrail will significantly improve links across the capital. It will also deliver economic benefits across London and the south east, as well as reducing congestion and boosting productivity. It will also increase tourism, both domestic and international, creating access for an additional 1.5 million people to be within 45 minutes of central London. The line will serve 40 stations and 5 airports, increasing public transport capacity in Central London by 10%.

London is the UK's largest city and a leading global business centre, with an economy that covers everything from high-tech sectors to creative industries, financial services and professional services. The south east region has a thriving economy with strong employment growth, world class transport links, leading universities and highly regarded research facilities. The UK has one of the most productive labour markets in Europe with 3.5 million businesses employing 27 million people across all regions.

At Central District Alliance we will be serviced by two world class stations at Tottenham Court Road and Farringdon. The addition of the Elizabeth line at Farringdon will make the area some of the best connected in central London and possibly the UK. People will be able to reach every major airport within the hour and more people will have their journey times significantly shortened. This presents a wealth of opportunity to tap into some of the most diversified employment talent in the region. Farringdon will become the new front door for London, its businesses and visitors. The economic benefits will be felt not just in the capital but across the wider region and the UK. We are enthusiastic about this new opportunity and the way this will become a truly transformational project.

At Central District Alliance we believe in making London the best place to do business in the UK, by providing people with the best possible services and by delivering good quality opportunities to a wide range of sectors, services and solutions. We hope that the opening of the Elizabeth line will encourage more people to return to the office and we are here at CDA to support them and the businesses they work for.
