Further to our Re-Election consultation, and subsequent Ballot which concluded at 5pm on 27 February, Midtown BID is delighted to have received a strong ‘YES’ from its district businesses to continue to a fourth term for Holborn, Bloomsbury and St Giles; and a second term for Farringdon and Clerkenwell. .
The vote gives us a mandate to continue to drive the development and regeneration of Midtown, which has overtaken the West End in a ranking of London’s most important economic hubs. In terms of economic output, Midtown is now second only to the City of London in the capital.
Midtown BID was re-elected following the publication of a Manifesto for Midtown that promised to support continued investment in the district, a renewed focus on sustainability to drive business growth, and a commitment to continue to make the case for the long-promised upgrade to Holborn Station. We will continue to champion the Sustainable Development Goals, addressing the fundamentals of business: people, place and competitive advantage
Tass Mavrogordato, CEO of Midtown BID, said: “We appreciate the continued support and trust that our businesses have shown in us and we are excited about implementing the plans that we set out in our Manifesto for Midtown. This is London’s most thriving and best-connected business hub and we’re proud to represent it. We look forward to continuing to drive and accelerate its development, supporting inclusive and sustainable business growth.”
Midtown BID’s fourth term for the WC1 district and second term for the EC1 district will commence on 1 April 2020 and run for five years.
