Local school choir spreads festive cheer across Holborn & Clerkenwell

Throughout December, CDA has helped bring heartwarming, festive cheer to some of our local hotel partners and public spaces, through our collaboration with the Hugh Myddelton school, and their wonderful choir. 

Amongst their visits, the choir visited DoubleTree by Hilton London, Clerkenwell Green and L'oscar London, where their cheerful melodies, classic carols and infectious enthusiasm brought smiles to many!

A special thank you to Hugh Myddleton school choir, especially Sarah Gill (Head Teacher), Lisa McCrindle (Deputy Teacher) and all the music teachers who have made this month's events happen, including:

• Thursday 7th December: DoubleTree Hilton
• Monday 11th December: Bloomsbury Hotel
• Thursday 14th December: Clerkenwell Green
• Monday 18th December: L'Oscar London

'We were delighted local MP Emily Thornberry could join us to listen to the amazing Hugh Myddelton Primary School choir today at Clerkenwell Green. It was great to come together to celebrate the festive season alongside our beautiful festive decorations. On behalf of the Farringdon and Clerkenwell BID I want to sincerely thank Emily for being a part of this memorable occasion.

Our appreciation also goes out to Cllr Ruth Hayes and Islington Council for being stellar partners in orchestrating this community celebration. Clerkenwell Green resounded today with singing and camaraderie. It is this kind of social good that Islington Council and the Farringdon and Clerkenwell BID strive for daily, bettering life for residents and businesses across our borough.

We are deeply grateful to all involved who helped lift up and amplify today's community event, bringing together people from all walks of life to enjoy the uplifting sounds of the Hugh Myddelton Primary School Choir.

We look forward to more activations enliving Clerkenwell Green, as this great new public space nears completion.'

'It was lovely to join the children from Hugh Myddleton Primary School and our local MP to sing Christmas songs by the Christmas Tree in Clerkenwell Green, and to see the support from people living and working nearby.  We are grateful to the CDA for supporting the community in this way and for bringing some festive joy to Clerkenwell.'
