Newsletter June 2022

Central District Alliance, as a commitment to ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance), has made the delivery of social value initiatives part of our core priorities. In addition to supporting the businesses we represent in Holborn and Clerkenwell.

I shared my thoughts on the benefits of the Circular Economy and the announcement of the new Social Mobility Framework. Additionally, Central District Alliance is committed to making our public realm more attractive, accessible, and places to dwell. We have launched the Holborn and Clerkenwell Place Plan addressing some of these issues and delivering transformational change.

The month of July will be an exciting time at Central District Alliance. On 13 and 14 of July we will be hosting the CDA Village Fete – a celebration of all things summer! We will be pedestrianising Southampton Place for food stalls, entertainment, and much more! Keep an eye out across our socials for more information.

Central District Alliance are commemorating Pride month with banners on lamp columns across the district. We are proud to champion and celebrate our colleagues who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.  In addition to celebrating the anniversary of Pride in London this month,

There is so much going on at Central District Alliance so keep an eye out across our socials and website for the most up to date information. As always please feel free to email to catch up.

Kind regards,

50-year anniversary of Pride in London

Pride in London, which began in 1969 as a march to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in New York, is the world's largest celebration of diversity and inclusion.

Central District Alliance is a proud supporter of our LGBTQ+ community. We believe in celebrating our businesses and colleagues throughout the year. This year we have commemorated the 50-year anniversary of the Pride in London march with banners on lamp columns stretching from Tottenham Court Road all the way to Farringdon.

This year’s Pride parade will take place on Saturday 2nd July throughout Central London.

Greening in Central District Alliance

At CDA we are spoiled with some incredible green spaces such as Lincoln Inn Fields, Russell Square, Bloomsbury Square, and Red Lion Square. It can’t be overstated these green spaces provide an opportunity of calm and happiness. At CDA we want to increase that sense of wellbeing and have recently installed new planters throughout Bury Place, High Holborn, New Oxford Street, and Tottenham Court Road station. This forms part of CDAs wider Grey to Green ambition to promote walking, wellness, and our wider neighbourhoods.

Keep an eye out across our social channels and website for Phase 2 of this exciting new scheme!
