Engaging with students at SOAS University

On the 25th and 26th of September, the CDA Security & Safety Team visited SOAS University for a two-day community engagement initiative aimed at connecting directly with students and staff.

The team set up a gazebo on campus where students could stop by to chat, ask questions, and learn more about the work CDA officers do to keep the university environment safe, and supportive. Throughout the event, our officers shared insights into their day-to-day responsibilities, offered practical safety advice, and highlighted the importance of collaboration between security teams and the wider university community.

The initiative proved to be an excellent opportunity to strengthen CDA’s presence within SOAS, as many students took the time to engage in meaningful conversations and express their appreciation for the team’s ongoing efforts. Staff members also visited the gazebo to discuss ways to further enhance safety and wellbeing across campus.

By taking part in this outreach activity, the CDA Security & Safety Team not only provided valuable information and reassurance to the SOAS community but also reinforced CDA’s commitment to open communication, partnership, and community engagement.
