The Bloomsbury tulip planting project - Central District Alliance

The Bloomsbury tulip planting project

On the 24th October, the Mayor of Camden, Cllr Eddie Hanson, joined forces with the Central District Alliance (CDA), Hatton Garden BID, the Friends of Bloomsbury Square and local volunteers to launch an exciting new project aimed at making Bloomsbury’s gardens greener, brighter and more welcoming for residents, visitors, and local workers.

To mark the occasion, the Mayor of Camden, planted the first of 11,400 tulip bulbs symbolising the start of the project that aims will fill nine of Bloomsbury’s gardens with vibrant colour this spring. After the initial planting, volunteers, local businesses, and CDA team members rolled up their sleeves to join in, planting bulbs together.

To celebrate the occasion, attendees gathered to enjoy cakes and refreshments, providing a perfect opportunity for local partners and councillor Rishi Madlani to connect and reflect on the success of the day.
